William Mehus - Chairman & CEO
Mr. Mehus (Bill) graduated from St. Cloud State University with Finance and Risk Management degrees. After interning at Marsh & McLennan in 1979, he went directly into the reinsurance field with a regional brokerage firm in Minneapolis, W. J. Lehrke Co. There as a reinsurance broker, he began a longstanding (yet today) relationship with Lloyd's of London. Being tribunalized, he remains a Lloyd's coverholder and acts as a Lloyd's correspondent.
At W.J. Lehrke, Mr. Mehus began programming insurance company financial analyses. Mr. Mehus has always had an interest in technology. Mr. Mehus is well versed in risk tolerance, transfer, and assumption.
In 1985, Mr. Mehus spent over two years researching the health insurance industry, having worked at an HMO and Third Party Administrator (TPA), focusing on self-insured options for employers.
In 1988, Mr. Mehus founded CieloStar, and its predecessor, OutsourceOne, where he remains Executive Chairman. Mr. Mehus business interests were focused around technology and reducing inefficiencies. He continued this interest into the health insurance industry, by programming possibly the first ever consolidated billing engine for employer's benefit plans. This engine is one of the backbones of CieloStar, while it has gone through numerous transformations/improvements by the development team at CieloStar.
Mr. Mehus has been a leader in the industry, having presented at various industry conferences. He has spoken loudly regarding the inefficiencies in the health insurance industry, and has developed business process outsourcing methods to improve efficiencies.
Mr. Mehus led CieloStar from a distributor of self-funded plans, to a medical claims TPA, to a benefit administrator (all services, COBRA, FSA, billing, call center, enrollment, EDI, etc.), to BPO, to a leader in Consumerism and Private Exchanges.
Paulette Rickey - Chief Administrative Officer
Paulette started with CieloStar in 2001 and has many years of experience in the Healthcare/TPA Industry. During this time period, her duties have included Payroll, Human Resources, Billing, Customer Service, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Claims/COBRA/ Flex Administration.
With the wide variety of experience Paulette brought to CieloStar she is an excellent fit to provide outstanding service for the day-to-day operations of CieloStar.
Paulette has a degree in Accounting with a minor in Business Management.
Scott Casey - President
Scott joined CieloStar in a sales role in 2010 and assisted in leading the Company's business development and strategic planning efforts. Furthermore, Scott worked closely with the Company's Exchange Partners, Distributions Partners as well as other senior managers to cultivate new services and solutions that reaffirm the Company's position as an industry leader in delivering employee benefits, benefits administration and Exchange Technologies.
Now as president, Scott oversees the Company's sales and consulting offices and is responsible for regional and national relationships with insurance brokers, consultants, State Exchanges and other distribution partners.
Prior to CieloStar, Scott served as the RVP for the SE and SW for Aetna, Inc. where he designed and managed Limited Medical distribution relationships for national, regional and local accounts in many different industries, including hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and transportation. He also served as Vice President of Sales for SRC, Inc., a Limited Medical TPA, based in South Carolina. Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Emory and Henry College as well as his MBA from Shenandoah University. He resides in Atlanta, Ga with his wife and 3 daughters.
Yves Zouzouambe - Chief Technology Officer
Yves joined CieloStar in 2012; right from the start he was tasked with outfitting the company's flagship software with integration capabilities, this in order to achieve an efficient and secure exchange of information with business partners. Yves subsequently spearheaded the implementation of several key systems within the company; all geared towards streamlining business processes and improving overall customer experience.
Yves' major achievement is the successful implementation and rollout of CieloStar's healthcare exchanges throughout the nation.
His demonstrated leadership, coupled with a deep knowledge of Information Technology, led the senior management of the company in the summer of 2014 to ask him to the play the role of CTO. In this role he is leading the company in its effort to transform itself into an agile HealthCare Information Management institution, with a heighten ability to quickly bring effective solutions to its ever changing marketplace.
Prior to working with CieloStar Yves was a Technology Consultant for Rainier Technology, Compaq Services, Hewlett Packard Services. He is also the founder of Asm Logic LLC, a software consulting company located in Burnsville, MN. His consulting career enabled him to travel the world and service companies of all sizes, implementing technology solutions of various complexities.
Yves studied Mathematics and Physics at the University of Yaounde, Cameroon. He also studied Software Engineering at KRS Computer and Business School.
Paul Walther - Chief Marketing Officer
Paul Walther joined CieloStar in 1994 and has filled a variety of marketing and management roles with the company. He was instrumental in the development of CieloStar's online enrollment tools and new products.
Mr. Walther has 30 years of in the benefits industry including nine years with Mutual of Omaha. He has a B.A. in psychology from the University of Minnesota. Prior to his current role, Paul served CieloStar as Director of Training and Development, and Vice President of Administration.<
Duane G. Harris - Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Harris graduated from Iowa State University in 1966 with a B.S. in Industrial Administration and an M.S. in Economics in 1968. He received his Ph.D. in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1971.
Prior to CieloStar, from 2001, Duane acted as CEO of Capital Management Resources, LLC specializing in providing financial consulting services to businesses and private equity investment funds. Prior to CMR, Mr. Harris was a founder and Managing Partner at Northstar Capital, LLC from 1993 through 2001, and a Senior Vice President at Churchill Capital, Inc. from 1987 through 1993.
During 1982-1987, Duane was Manager of Business Analysis at General Mills, Inc.; as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor at Iowa State University from 1972 through 1982; and as an Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia from 1969 through 1972.<
Tony Hodge - Chief Stategic Officer
Mr. Hodge serves as executive vice-president for OutsourceOne, an Internet based employee benefits and affinity benefits company, where he has assisted the growth of the company to new channels of distribution and new market opportunities.
Anthony Hodge has a thirty five year career in insurance technology that has embodied sales and marketing, executive and general management, and merger and acquisition work including the start-up company, Healtheon/WebMD, financially struggling companies, Continuum and Eldorado Computing Systems, and Fortune 500 companies, Pacific Life and Policy Management Systems.
A technologist by training, Mr. Hodge transitioned into sales and marketing in the late 1970's. This transition led Mr. Hodge to participate in one of the greatest technology company transformations ever accomplished.
The company, T.C.C./The Continuum Company, went from less than $1M of gross revenue to $72M in profitable revenue and was one of the top five performing stocks for three years running A particular highlight in Mr. Hodge's successful career was when he was part of a management team assembled by Jim Clark to reinvigorate his start-up company, Healtheon, later known as WebMD. In a four year period, that team took a 50-person company in Silicon Valley and transformed it into a company of 4,000 employees with over a 500M in revenue. Mr. Hodge served as the director of marketing during this growth period and also served as the direct sales person that secured the large health care client that enabled this growth.
